Orders & operations

Orders, documents, emails and the plumbing behind them.

Every order carries items, addresses, notes and transactions, moves through a status workflow, refunds from one screen and prints its own invoice and packing slip. Emails are templated with smart tags; reports, webhooks, a job queue and a system status page keep the operation observable.

Orders

One screen from placed to fulfilled.

Transition status, add internal or customer-visible notes, refund fully or partially (the gateway is refunded where it supports it), print the invoice or packing slip from token-guarded links, and record off-platform payments for Net Terms. Manual orders can be created for a customer from the admin.

  • Status workflow with an action on every transition
  • Full and partial refunds with a refund record
  • Invoices and packing slips; PDF renderer hook
  • Manual orders with the staff-only gateway
Emails

Templates a merchant cannot break.

Order created, paid and status-changed emails go to customers and admins with per-event, per-audience toggles. Subjects and bodies are editable with smart tags — {{order_number}}, {{order_total}}, {{invoice_url}} and more — inside a shared header and footer, and a preview URL renders a sample order through the real pipeline.

  • Per-event, per-audience toggles
  • Smart tags substituted at send time
  • Test send and live preview
  • From name and address filterable
Operations

Reports, webhooks, jobs and a status page.

Built-in reports cover revenue, orders and average order value, sales by day, top products and status breakdown; Advanced Reports adds cohort retention and RFM. Nine webhook events fire signed payloads through a durable job queue with eight attempts; webhook deliveries are logged and re-testable, failed jobs are listed and retried over REST; System status reports versions, tables, gateways and environment.

  • Reports: summary, sales by day, top products, status breakdown
  • Webhooks: X-Ambikly-Signature, retries, delivery log, test fire
  • Jobs: minute tick, failed list and retry over REST
  • CSV export for products and orders; WP-CLI

FAQ

Orders & operations — common questions.

Can I get real PDF invoices?

Invoices render as printable HTML by default; plug in Dompdf or mPDF through the ambikly_invoice_pdf_renderer filter for PDF output.

What if a webhook endpoint is down?

Delivery retries eight times with exponential backoff, and the last 200 attempts per webhook are kept with status, duration and error.

Which emails does Ambikly send?

Order created, order paid and status changed — each to the customer and/or admin, each toggleable, plus renewal and shipping emails from the relevant Pro add-ons.

All of this is in the free plugin.

Install it, take a real order, and turn on Pro add-ons the day one earns it.
